I haven't really been in touch with the fellas for a good two weeks or so now, I've been just enjoying spending time with the family, playing some softball where I get annoyed at Nelly for catching me out. And taking a mini vacation to London to spend some time with a friend. I am not sure what's going on in their world, I am sure we'll catch up soon. If you are reading this, let me know how things are going. I am sure y'all are just as busy enjoying our time off!
I know I sure have, we had a family and friends July the 4th celebrations. Which we try to do every year, they seem to be getting bigger and bigger. But you know there is nothing like watching Baylee's face lighting up when the night sky does with all the colors in the rainbow. And seeing everyone singing and dancing outside, I think I've eaten more burgers in the past two weeks then I probably should have. But hey, that's why they created the gym and it's own form of punishment.
My trip to London was great, it's probably the first time I've taken a real vacation somewhere overseas and got to be a tourist for the few days I was there. Even if the weather kind of went bad, but it wasn't anything I was going to let stop me from having my own personal tour guide show me around. The thing is, it's nice to have someone who lives in a place you visit show you around, because you don't just go and see all the hot tourist spots. I got to visit a highly recommended local bar, I got to help walk the dogs every day as we got to explore and well it was kind of like being at home but not. Because you weren't as familiar with everything and nearly trip on the stairs on your way to the bathroom in the the middle of the night. I also didn't mind sleeping on the couch, it was surprisingly comfortable. I have always loved London, just the culture that is there. I was kind of sad to leave, but someone had to go on their own real vacation and I had to come back home to gear up for a busy couple of months ahead of us. I could probably ramble on more about this, because there were some great hilarious moments. But I will make everyone wait.
I feel like all I really ever do is update about what's going on in the world of Backstreet and I have to ask that you please forgive me for that! But I want y'all to know what is going on, because there are a number of you who actually enjoy us as a group! And it still shocks me, and so I want to make sure you don't miss out on anything! We really are trying to put together the best album we can and I know we won't please everyone, because it's almost impossible these days. We've been working with new producers and writers as well as reconnecting with some old familiar players in the backstreet game of music. Hoping to strike the right cords and create the right kind of music for 'This Is Us'. So on that note...

I hope you all have the 20th marked down in your calendars, if you don't you better get to it now! It's Leighanne Reena's birthday and well I sure hope that you all plan to give her the most amazing birthday wishes. She enjoys sparkly things, music and artistic creations. I would have added 7eleven to that list but I am trying to keep things classy for her! She has officially twisted my arm and got me using my twitter account. Which we usually use at the same time, because she makes me! And you can see just how crazy we are around each other. I also have to call out those who harass her on twitter, which sometimes means posting a curse word. I protect those I love. I also upset our management when I posted the release date for our album. Which is looking to be October the 6th! And even if they delete it there, I'll post it here just to be a rebel. But it's actually fun to use and I know Leigh and I could probably make the general fan base sick with how we are with each other and our inside jokes that nobody gets. But it's Leigh and you know a good time is always had around her!
That is really all I have to say right now, I have to admit that I've just spend most of my time enjoying my time off. Being a good family man and having a lot of fun while in my time off. Getting to see family and spend time being one, as well as helping Leigh with her creations and sporting them for her. I mean who isn't going to find me sexy wearing a shirt with her face on it right? I know. I think I am finally ready to get this Backstreet show on the road though and I know we have a crazy few months ahead of us and after the time I've gotten to be Brian instead of Backstreet Brian will help me deal with that.
Balance is the key to life I feel, I think you can have the best of both worlds if you find a way to manage it. I can be a father, a friend, a lover, a faux husband with the most understand faux wife on earth and a backstreet boy too. I think sometimes we let ourselves focus on all the things we don't have instead of the things we do. Who isn't happy to know that every morning they wake up to a brand new day that means anything can happen.
I am going to go make the family some of my special pancakes and enjoy the crazy heat we've been having lately with some time at the beach. I always say when it gets to hot, head to the beach and that's what we are doing!
